Women employed by companies using serviced offices in Northampton may decide to take action on their own career prospects, following comments from one expert.
Piya Khanna, executive coach at Change to Succeed, said females need to take more responsibility with regards to their career path.
She stated that this can be done by ensuring they are visible in the minds of the decision makers at senior levels by building their profile, network and personal brand.
"[They] also need to make progress on flexible work, maternity and paternity benefits and part-time work for mothers for a long-term solution," Ms Khanna added.
Within the workplace, women are still facing obstacles when it comes to progressing with a business as the primary decision makers are more likely to be men and they prefer to hire people like themselves, she noted.
According to a report released by Cranfield School of Management, for the third year running the number of females in the top jobs at the 100 leading UK firms remained unchanged.
