When taking on new employees at serviced offices in Cardiff it would be wise to ensure they are properly trained in health and safety.
This is according to occupational safety adviser at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Roger Bibbings, who explained that such information should be divulged during a person's induction.
He claimed that "all firms" need a training strategy that should be completed alongside overall employee development plans.
It was suggested that details should be revisited each time staff members face new hazards or are introduced to skills.
"Health and safety training needs should always be reviewed at appraisal," Mr Bibbings added.
In addition, businesses were advised that employees would benefit from learning about any new aspects of workplace safety if they take on management responsibilities.
Aviva recently urged companies to ensure they have proper healthy and safety procedures in place after more than one-fifth of all injuries in the manufacturing sector last year came as the result of a slip or trip.
