Stressed workers at serviced offices in Cardiff could find they are putting their health at risk, according to new research.
A study conducted by the Stroke Association in conjunction with Siemens has revealed that 15 per cent of people in the UK consider themselves to be extremely harassed.
The overwhelming majority of those who said they were stressed as they re-entered the workplace in 2011 were found to be women.
Nearly a fifth of ladies said they felt tense in comparison with a tenth of men.
James Beeby, head of corporate fundraising for the Stroke Association, said: "The research is incredibly worrying and emphasises the need for the public to be aware of the dangers of stroke."
Lack of exercise and a poor diet can all raise people's chances of suffering from a stroke, but high blood pressure, which is often caused by stress, is classed as the number one risk factor.
The Health and Safety Executive warns that stress is commonplace across all industries and job levels and it is important individuals address the issue.
