Firms operating out of serviced offices in Cardiff may want to ensure they inform workers of the implications of the 2012 auto-enrolment pension changes, following the results of a new study.
Research published in the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's (CIPD's) Employee Outlook: Focus on Pensions report shows that a high proportion of staff have concerns about their savings.
More than 2,000 individuals were questioned about their knowledge of how much they and their employers contribute to their scheme and how they feel about the system.
It was revealed that 56 per cent are worried they are not saving enough for their retirement, while 65 per cent of private sector employees do not pay into a company pension.
Charles Cotton, reward adviser at the CIPD, said: "It is crucial that the Government supports employers’ efforts to communicate to employees the implications of these changes. If not, we will continue to sleepwalk into a pensions’ crisis."
Elsewhere, CIPD employee relations adviser Mike Emmott commented that companies should ensure their human resources staff are aware of how to effectively deal with workplace disputes.
