Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including those using serviced offices in Edinburgh, could benefit their own company by taking advantage of the opportunities that have risen as a result of the comprehensive spending review (CSR).
That is according to Emyr Williams, director of ByteStart, who noted while there are financial implications for many businesses as a result of the move, firms that offer money-saving, efficient services to the public sector can benefit from the cutbacks.
He noted SMEs reliant on the public sector for their turnover are most likely to be affected by the economic constraints, but stated over a period of time the cutbacks will help.
"The most significant impact the CSR will have on small businesses is the fact that the measures, in the long-run, will create a stronger economy," Mr Williams stated.
Last week, a survey of SMEs carried out by Eclipse Internet revealed almost a third of firms hoped the CSR would lead to the strengthening of UK business.
