Staff training in serviced offices in Northampton and around the country may be among those who are unhappy with their current capabilities, according to new research.
Middlesex University's Institute for Work-Based Learning revealed that 74 per cent of UK workers do not believe they are achieving their potential and would like to do more work-based training to remedy this.
Over eight out of ten (83 per cent) would consider training at home and 72 per cent would spend their own money to improve their skills.
More development opportunities were desired by 77 per cent of workers.
Some employees (13 per cent) feel that their place of work does not value training at all and 23 per cent see training as a chance to upskill and move to a better job.
"Our results paint an encouraging picture for UK businesses," professor Simon Roodhouse said.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents recently called for more frequent health and safety training, focused on when workers take on new responsibilities.
