Businesses operating from serviced offices in Northampton may wish to provide support to stressed members of staff.
Using data from the Department for Work and Pensions, Legal & General conducted research that discovered 83 per cent of all UK firms offer no advice for stress management or reducing anxiety to the workforce.
Despite this, it is a significant problem for UK corporations, with 42,000 short-term absences in the three months to December 2010 caused by stress.
Furthermore, 39 per cent of all Employment and Support Allowance claimants receive the benefit due to behavioural or mental disorders.
Diane Buckley, managing director of Legal & General Group Income Protection, said: "These figures show that employers should ensure that good quality support is available in the workplace to help employees."
Stressed people may wish to consider preparing for the worst-case scenarios, as this can reduce their anxiety levels, Stress Doctor Terri Bodell recently stated.
