Companies working from serviced offices in Northampton could be among those with plans to increase their workforce, according to the results of a recent survey.
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation's (REC) May JobsOutlook study indicated that more and more businesses are planning to take on new staff in the near future, with 44 per cent intending to increase the number of people in their workforce over the next three months and 52 per cent throughout the next year.
Applications for headcount freezes continued falling into April, reaching 20 per cent of employers. The REC described this as a substantial improvement compared to statistics from late 2010, where figures peaked at 43 per cent.
"This is encouraging news at what remains a difficult and volatile time for the UK jobs market," REC director of research Roger Tweedy commented.
These results correlate with data from the Office for National Statistics, which revealed the number of unemployed people in the UK fell by 36,000 in the first quarter of 2011.
