Older employees working out of serviced offices in Northampton may wish to show more enthusiasm for their job, after one specialist claimed this is an important factor for securing and keeping a position.
Yvonne Goodwin, managing director at Yvonne Goodwin Wealth Management, said that the working life is now much longer so it is important for senior staff members to remain keen to ensure they land the vacancies they want.
"It depends how they present themselves and if they come up with a really good CV and show willingness," she explained.
According to Ms Goodwin, older workers tend to "have a really good work ethic" and are normally extremely eager in their jobs.
As people age, they may need to be more flexible in taking on positions, she stated, but added that it is vital to enjoy the duties performed as well.
Her comments came after a recent Real Retirement Report by Aviva showed two out of five over-55s face unplanned career changes in the ten years up to their 65th birthday.
