Businesses operating from serviced offices in Northampton could be some of those that are hiring interim staff due to the recent recession.
Marc Lawn, managing director of thebusinessgp.com, said global financial problems have made firms "far more apprehensive about committing long term" and this has been reflected in their need for workers that are hired for a short amount of time.
Further evidence of this is in the statistics revealing the number of jobless people in the UK, which he claimed "aren't really dropping", indicating wider recruitment trends.
As many businesses need to reduce their exposure and overhead risks, interim employment has become more commonplace, he explained.
Furthermore, people in these positions can often be very experienced and available at short notice, allowing corporations to "hit the ground running", the expert continued.
However, enterprises still require a core workforce in areas they see as vital, Mr Lawn added.
The ideal interim member of staff will still relate to the company and should feel as involved with the business as those in permanent positions, HR and training consultant Tara Daynes recently stated.
