Struggling firms operating from serviced offices in Northampton may wish to seek the expertise of an insolvency practitioner, following comments made by one expert.
Frances Coulson, president of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3), said this should be done "as early as possible" from when they start to experience serious financial problems.
"This will increase the prospect of rescuing the business," she continued.
A significant proportion of the work these professionals do is dedicated to restructuring corporations in order to reverse their fortunes, so seeking one out is not "the final nail" in an organisation's coffin, the expert declared.
Ms Coulson claimed 59 per cent of all enterprises are distressed to some extent and are experiencing a curtailment in their volume of sales or lower profits, according to the latest business index released by R3.
This corresponds to Begbies Traynors Q2 2011 Red Flag Alert, which discovered the number of companies experiencing financial problems spiked during the second quarter of 2011.
