Students looking for work in serviced offices in Northampton or elsewhere may wish to consider using social networking to assist them.
This is according to the advice of Lizzie Fane, founder of ThirdYearAbroad.com, who said this will make it "much easier to get a job".
Networking websites enable people to build up "a large network of friends and followers" before they graduate, she declared, adding that these will give individuals contacts in many different locations.
The expert noted that the employment market is becoming "increasingly competitive" but stated younger members of the public, particularly "English-speaking graduates with social media skills", may discover that their talents are useful in some newly-emerging sectors.
Ms Fane advised people to ensure they have a "significant online presence" through profiles on YouTube and Twitter or by blogging.
Her comments follow research from IMRG and eDigitalResearch, which found 63 per cent of internet businesses have a larger workforce than they did 12 months ago.
