A new service may help small businesses operating out of serviced offices in Northampton to secure bank loans.
The Forum of Private Business (FPB) has joined forces with CreditPal to offer less-sizeable companies free financial management advice.
Increasingly, banks are considering whether to lend money to businesses based on their competence in meeting liabilities.
However, many financial intuitions have reported to the body that information submitted by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is often unclear and confusing.
Phil Orford, the forum's chief executive, said: "In recent years, something of an impasse in bank/business relationships has emerged and it is important that we bridge that divide."
He added that organisations need to realise that they are "not helpless" and that there is "support available" to prevent them from being rejected for finance.
The news comes after the FPB recently launched a Get Britain Trading campaign designed to increase SMEs contribution to economic recovery.
