Individuals may want to consider setting up their own business in serviced offices in Northampton after hearing about the benefits of being self-employed.
Speaking at a Natwest Business Knowledge Webinar, entrepreneur James Caan explained how people who work for themselves have a "better quality of life" than their counterparts.
He claimed that many workers are initially drawn to starting their own company as they believe there will be financial gain.
However, it was suggested that there are many more positive elements including "freedom" and "flexibility" as well as the "ability to create your own destiny".
"It's an amazing quality of life being an entrepreneur," Mr Caan stated.
His comments come after the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development recently released the findings of a survey looking at employee standards of living.
Of those questioned, the proportion of people who believe their quality of life has worsened in the last six months rose from 31 per cent to 37 per cent compared with the previous quarter.
