Employers operating out of serviced offices in Northampton may want to take note of one expert's advice about pay freezes.
Diana Bruce, policy liaison officer at the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals, explained how it is important that bosses are upfront with workers about their intentions for 2011.
She commented that it is likely many companies will not offer a monetary incentive in the next 12 months as they continue to stabilise following the recession.
However, it was suggested "communicating the reasons why is vital" so staff can better understand if they are not due to receive a wage increase, despite being faced with a rise in National Insurance and VAT.
"It is absolutely vital that employers communicate with employees, job security is going to be a really key factor," Ms Bruce stated.
Her comments follow a recent report from the Office for National Statistics that revealed the average earnings including bonuses remained unchanged in the year to November 2010.
