Companies based in serviced offices in Northampton may want to consider how they can become greener, following one expert's comments.
Alex Randall, spokesman for the Centre for Alternative Technology, explained how more needs to be done to promote eco-friendly businesses and the reduction of carbon emissions.
He explained how the government should be investing more money and time into training and education in order to help the UK economy lower its reliance on fossil fuels.
A report released recently by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs suggested that UK business could save £6 billion by adopting greener methods.
However, Mr Randall claimed that companies lack the support necessary to do so as there is a distinct lack of trained individuals who can help implement new systems.
"This skills gap must become a priority for the government … if they are serious about a low carbon future," he commented.
