Businesses making use of serviced offices in Northampton can take a number of steps to ensure they workforce stays as healthy as possible, it has been suggested.
Providing fruit to employees and giving them advice on healthy eating are two methods employers can use to help keep personnel fit, assistant medical director at Bupa Dr Peter Mace observed, adding firms that make use of a canteen can adjust the menu to ensure healthier options are on offer.
Bosses could also educate workers on the importance of limiting alcohol intake, Dr Mace noted, stating doing so would "have an effect on productivity within the workforce".
"They can encourage stop smoking groups within the workplace," he concluded.
Dr Mace made the comments after research from Bupa indicated employers - such as firms in serviced offices - could save £2.7 billion by 2025 if they worked to improve the lifestyles of their employees and encouraged them to cut down on their intake of cigarettes and alcohol.
