Considering potential cyber security threats may be something companies operating out of serviced offices in Northampton would be wise to do.
Ian Shaw, managing director of MWR Infosecurity, explained how businesses should recognise the danger posed by hackers and implement defences.
"I think the key thing that people need to be aware of is that there is a market for this kind of information and therefore there is a motivation for the attackers," he stated.
Individuals were advised to review security systems and increase measures where necessary to prevent them from becoming vulnerable.
Mr Shaw suggested that many cyber attackers are targeting specific employees of companies rather than just an organisation as a whole.
He added that some firms may struggle to address issues when introducing new technology at the same time.
His comments followed a recent announcement by McAfee that warned a corporations' proprietary information and trade secrets are of great value to hackers and often have little protection.
