Companies looking for office space to rent in Northampton may want to take one expert's advice on what type of serviced building to opt for.
Richard Kauntze, chief executive officer of the British Council for Offices, explained how an office needs to be adaptable.
"Flexibility is very important ... in that business requirements can change very quickly and space requirements need to reflect that and they can also change very quickly," he commented.
It was suggested that it is "crucial" organisations are able to alter the size of their rented space as their needs change.
Mr Kauntze recommended smaller tenants opt for open plan offices as these are more efficient in terms of air conditioning, while also provide a better atmosphere for workers.
In addition, the layout of large open spaces can often be easily altered, it was noted.
Speaking at the recent British Council for Offices annual conference in London, journalist and commentator Jonathan Margolis claimed that office-based work is vital in providing an "emotional connection" for workers.
