Online retailers are failing to deliver customer-focused branding, an expert has suggested, in news which may interest companies that use serviced offices.
Suzy Radcliffe, retail strategist at consultancy Wolff Olins, described the field as "wide open", as so many firms are not capitalising on this strategy.
She noted that Amazon and Net-a-Porter are engaging "extremely well" with their clients, but more businesses need to follow suit.
"Any organisation that started to obsess over this part of the customer journey would see a lot of potential benefits," Ms Radcliffe added.
The expert went on to suggest that the rise in popularity of web-based feedback and reviews means the level of customer service that brands provide is an important contributory factor to their commercial success.
According to a recent report by Millward Brown, seven per cent of consumers buy on price alone, but 81 per cent see a company brand as an important motivation when choosing products.
