People who work in serviced offices in Edinburgh may be among those who have become more environmentally-conscious during the economic downturn.
According to a survey conducted for Green Office Week, 47 per cent of office workers in the UK said their workplace has put more effort into green activities such as recycling and reducing energy consumption following the financial crisis.
However, only 17 per cent described their office as 'very or completely green' and 28 per cent stated their place of work is not at all environmentally friendly.
The Yougov poll, commissioned by Avery, showed 57 per cent of office workers believe being green can save money.
"A greener office can help the bottom line," expert in corporate social responsibility Nicky Amos remarked.
Those using serviced offices in Edinburgh should note 44 per cent of Scottish office workers believe it is the management's job to keep the office environmentally friendly. In the south of England, 57 per cent believe it is a responsibility shared between the government, the management and the staff.
Green office week is between May 9th and 13th. It intends to encourage office workers to think about what they could do to reduce their office's environmental impact.
