Staff in serviced offices in Edinburgh may wish to ensure they eat healthily and at appropriate times, following comments made by one expert.
Hermie Hogg, health and wellbeing consultant and founder of Hermieopathy, said people should try to prepare a meal when they come home from work.
This reduces stress on the liver and allows individuals to be better rested as they are not digesting overnight, she added.
Consuming food later in the evening will result in workers feeling sluggish and tired in the morning, the expert continued.
A study by cheese producer President revealed 37 per cent of Brits usually have their lunch in less than ten minutes, with 33 per cent citing work pressures as the reason for rushing.
However, Ms Hogg claimed that "there is no excuse for people to just eat junk food", explaining it only takes five minutes to prepare a soup or wholemeal salad sandwich.
"Diet is very important all of the time," she stated.
