Environmentally-conscious employees in serviced offices in Edinburgh could be some of the people who are embracing flexible working.
This is according to Peter Thomson, director of research at the Telework Association, who claimed that the "arduous experience of commuting every day" is encouraging a change in the mindsets of younger members of staff.
"You turn your brain off and just get used to [travelling to work]. But why?" he asked.
Mr Thomson continued by pointing out that many current members of the working population were taught about the environment in school.
These "are quite rightly saying" that they would like to do something green and they think "various old habits that applied in the past don't need to apply now", Mr Thomson stated.
His comments follow a recent report by the Confederation of British Industry and Harvey Nash, which found that 96 per cent of employers are currently offering their staff at least one method of flexible working.
A total of 74 per cent claimed that this enhanced employee relations.
