Companies working out of serviced offices in Edinburgh may wish to analyse their power consumption following the advice of one expert.
Andrew Boddington, director of marketing at Return on IT, noted it is useful for firms to "be very aware of how much energy they're using and where it is being used," which may prompt them to ensure electronic devices are turned off when the office closes.
The expert recommended that enterprises should be careful when choosing premises to work from, adding that sustainability "can make a big difference to the money you spend as a company".
He said that businesses increasingly want to improve their eco-friendliness but are "not perhaps thinking as strategically" about this as they used to.
Mr Boddington had previously advised corporations to examine their printing technology and said refilling old cartridges can be part of a green strategy, while helping to prevent any unnecessary expenditure.
