Companies making use of serviced offices in Edinburgh may wish to consider utilising cloud solutions for data storage, following the advice of one expert.
Steve Holford, marketing director at online services supplier Fasthosts Internet, noted that security is kept consistent throughout the entire workforce if an online solution for the keeping of information is utilised.
Firms can ensure that files and folders remain encrypted in storage and when being transferred through use of this method, he added.
It also means "the risk of physical loss is greatly reduced and that threats from personal computers are minimised", he continued, stating that this "makes business sense".
Furthermore, remote working is easier to adapt as "[relevant] materials are on hand to staff 24/7 from any computer", Mr Holford concluded.
His statement follows a recent report in the Sun, which revealed that a laptop containing the medical records of 8.63 million people disappeared from an NHS building.
