Companies considering renting work space may find serviced offices in Edinburgh allow them to conduct their business without worrying about weather damage in the winter months.
This is following a warning by Scottish Water that it is vital to ensure pipes are adequately insulated and to regularly check buildings for problems following cold weather.
By using serviced offices, organisations do not have to worry about being responsible for the upkeep of the structure or any maintenance issues that arise.
The water company explained that they have been receiving a high level of calls since temperatures plummeted and that in some areas the conditions are hampering repair work.
Peter Farrer, director of customer service delivery at the firm, said: "The snow is making repairs difficult but we are getting out to the most necessary repairs as a priority."
Scottish Water provides 2.3 billion litres of drinking water daily to homes and businesses across Scotland.
