The productivity of workers based in serviced offices in Cardiff is likely to decline if they are suffering from stress, it has been suggested.
Director of the Stress Management Society Neil Shah explained being "stuck at a desk or in front of a computer" can lead to tension that makes working more difficult.
"Nature never anticipated that we'd be getting stressed in those kinds of situations," he stated, explaining stress "is designed to help us deal with physically challenging situations", rather than work-related scenarios.
Stress can result in "mental blocks and an inability to think creatively", the expert observed - both of which can have a detrimental effect on the productivity of workers.
Consultant clinical psychologist Terri Bodell recently advised those who think they may be suffering from pressure to use visualisations to enable them to relax.
Conjuring up soothing images can have a calming effect and help remove tension, she observed.
