Relocating to serviced offices in Cardiff could be one way for companies to save money on energy bills.
Richard Critchley, policy manager for transport, environment and planning at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, explained how the rising expense of gas and electricity is forcing many businesses to review their energy use.
He described how this "isn't always a simple process" as it can require firms to monitor their bills and meter readings themselves to ensure they are getting the best supplier deal on the market.
"Businesses don't have the same rights as households when dealing with energy suppliers, making it complicated and expensive to find the best deal," Mr Critchley stated.
As a result, it was suggested that proposals designed to make it easier for companies to switch suppliers would be welcomed.
The comments follow a recent plan pitched by Ofgem to overhaul the way energy prices are set so that complex and unfair practices are removed.
