Employers operating out of serviced offices in Cardiff may be interested in one expert's comments about remote working.
Shirley Borrett, development director at the Telework Association, explained how successfully allowing staff to carry out their jobs from home will be dependent on how they are managed.
She described how some companies are concerned that letting people work outside of the office may mean they do not actually get anything productive done.
However, it was suggested that measuring employees by what they are expected to complete in a certain time frame will mean bosses are "not going to have a lot of problems managing people remotely".
Ms Borrett claimed that "the fact that they can't see them is not a key thing in supervising" if workers are set targets that they have to meet.
Her comments follow the latest productivity figures from the Office for National Statistics, which show output per worker increased by 0.8 per cent in quarter four of 2010 compared with the same time period in 2009.
