According to a spokeswoman for Summit Systems, which specialises in the handling of automated materials, the proposed reduction of funding for the Energy Saving Trust and Carbon Trust is "sad".
Explaining that it is a growing area in need of assistance and investment, she stated that the government must focus its policies and efforts on commercial firms.
It has only been interested in channelling the green agenda and money through local councils who "have only really been proactive in providing local communities, not businesses", she said.
Emissions targets will not be enough to encourage sustainability in the private sector and the state must get involved, the spokeswoman concluded.
This follows the announcement by the Department of Energy and Climate Change that it is changing its delivery methods to maximise future effectiveness.
