Allowing employees to spend at least one day a week working from home may be something companies operating out of serviced offices in Cardiff want to consider.
According to director of research at the Telework Association Peter Thomson, workers can benefit financially and emotionally.
He described how not having to commute allows individuals to be more relaxed as they do not have to face the morning rush to get to the office.
"All that doesn't just save you time and make your life less stressed, but actually it saves you money commuting as well," Mr Thomson stated.
It was suggested that with the current high price of fuel and rail fares, staff members can make a "significant" saving if they are granted one day a week working from home.
Mr Thomson's comments came after a recent report from the Office for National Statistics revealed that 56 per cent of people in London have to spend more than 30 minutes a day travelling to the office.
