Sustainable serviced offices in Cardiff may be some of the business that have significantly reduced their carbon footprint without too much hassle.
This is according to Martin Sandbrook, director of educational programmes at the Schumacher Institute for Sustainable Systems, who said that "many companies have found it quite easy to cut ten or 15 per cent" of their carbon dioxide emissions.
Some "have also managed to save money by doing that", he continued.
Reducing electricity bills and the cost of printing are simple, but after these initial steps it becomes necessary to invest in new equipment and technologies.
This would require "really rethinking the ways in which the business is run and so on," he declared.
Mr Sandbrook concluded that mindsets must also be changed, as people fail to consider the energy consequences of their actions while at work.
His advice follows recent comments made by British Council for Offices Environmental Sustainability Group chair Paul Edwards, who said that businesses wishing to become environmentally sustainable must educate their employees on green issues.
