Construction companies operating out of serviced offices in Cardiff may be interested to hear one expert's comments on the industry's vital role in the economy.
Brian Berry, director of external affairs at the Federation of Master Builders, explained that more needs to be done to provide a skilled workforce in the UK.
"Construction SMEs hold the key to the success of the Government's Green Deal but only if they are allowed to access the market," he stated.
It was suggested that the retrofit scheme could thrive if a comprehensive package of incentives were introduced to help motivate building companies to train local apprentices.
However, Mr Berry also commented that the Chancellor of the Exchequer needs to create monetary rewards to bolster demand among householders for the work.
The Green Deal was announced as part of the Department of Energy and Climate Change's December Energy Bill and is designed to revolutionise the efficiency of power use in Britain's homes.
