Firms looking for serviced office space to rent in Cardiff may want to consider opting for a unit that provides a comprehensive security system.
Adrian Platts, spokesman for the Business Crime Reduction Centre, explained how such devices can be cost-effective in the long-term.
He said: "An effective security system will not only keep insurance premiums down, it will protect business continuity and potential crime costs in the future."
People were advised that there are a number of free measures that companies can take to ensure their information and property is kept safe.
Mr Platts urged individuals to introduce practice and procedures such as checking visitors in and out of the building properly and securing the unit properly so people cannot scale the walls looking for access.
In a previous statement, the specialist commented that small and medium-sized enterprises may be tempted to under-invest in security systems due to the expense.
