Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) occupying serviced offices in Northampton may be optimistic about their prospects heading into the new year.
Martin Lyne, SME managing director at communications company Everything Everywhere said recent research demonstrates businesses are positive about 2011.
"What is also encouraging is the overwhelming number of companies that plan to introduce flexible working," he stated.
This demonstrates that enterprises, such as those in offices to rent, are being driven by a desire to make their businesses more efficient and benefit their employees by helping them achieve a balance between work and life away from their job, he added.
According to the study, which was carried out by Orange, 76 per cent of SMEs believe next year will see them achieve the same level of success or greater than 2010.
Heading into the start of the new year, small firms could be buoyed if proposals by the Federation of Small Businesses to raise the threshold at which companies pay VAT is increased to £90,000 from £70,000 are implemented by the government.
