Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) using serviced offices in Northampton may decide to implement environmentally-friendly technology into the workplace.
Jim Bromley, compliance manager at ICEX, said at Green IT Expo 2010 that many large corporations have now began to embrace energy-saving devices, but this needs to filter down to SMEs as well.
He added the mindset of companies is changing to become more open to the use of green IT, but the cost of being energy-efficient may be preventing some firms from taking this path.
"There are committed people who are finding their way around it," Mr Bromley stated. "I think it's on an individual level. Corporates want to do it, but they don't want to pay for it."
Earlier this week, the Green IT Expo took place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster and helped companies – such as those in offices to rent - to identify energy-efficient innovations and environmentally-friendly technologies.
