People looking for offices to rent in Edinburgh may be interested to hear that planning permission has been granted for a new project in the city.
Property mogul Michael O'Flynn has been given approval to build a £250 million mixed-use space in the financial district, the Irish Times reports.
Located in Haymarket, the development will consist of 510,000 sq ft of offices, 58,000 sq ft of retail and leisure units and 381 car parking spaces in the basement.
Mr O'Flynn said: "We have a number of parties who are keen to co-fund this development. Given the sustained tourism, retail and office demand, we are aiming to start on site in 2012."
Originally, the site was designed to be a 17-storey building featuring an InterContinental hotel, but the plans were altered following rejection by the Scottish government.
The O'Flynn Group is one of the largest privately owned Irish property and construction companies.
