Parents working in serviced offices in Edinburgh are likely to have just 90 minutes spare time each day, according to a new survey.
Research carried out by Co-operative Food found that juggling work and family life leaves many adults with less than two hours out of 24 to themselves.
Of those polled, 34 per cent said they would like more freedom to exercise, while one in four wanted the opportunity to sit down with a book.
Helen Bridgett of Co-Operative said: "'For many, life has become one big juggling act and it means people have very little time to pursue their hobbies and interests."
On average, it was revealed that parents wake at 06:42 GMT and, after a day at the office and looking after the children, they go to sleep at 22:45 GMT.
Elsewhere, a recent survey by Twentieth Century Fox revealed that more than a third of adults regularly lie about their workload to make their life easier.
