Companies that use serviced offices in Cardiff may be interested to hear the opinion of one industry expert who has said older workers can be of benefit to a workforce during challenging economic times.
Rachel Krys, director of Inclusive Employers, said the experience that more senior staff can bring to a workplace may be invaluable, as "they've been there and seen it before and that can really help".
She went on to highlight that workers who have been involved in a recession before will respond differently to those that have not.
"When this latest recession hit, what employers were finding was particularly the younger people were reading the newspapers, they were listening to the news and it was all doom-laden," Ms Krys explained.
However, older employees' experience of the recessions of the 1970s and 1990s are often more resilient because they saw how things eventually improved ccasions.
These views come after Martin Lyne, director of SME marketing at T-Mobile, recently suggested employers are increasingly judging firms on their effectiveness in the workplace rather than the amount of time they spend at their desk.
