Companies operating out of offices to rent in Northampton may be interested in one expert's comments about IT security.
Spencer Parker, group product manager at Websense, explained how many firms are moving towards software as a service (SaaS), which can provide better protection than some internal systems.
He described how SaaS organisations can be useful for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as the work can be outsourced and carried out by specialists.
"If you're a small SME, there's a chance that [they can do it better than] your IT manager, who is a jack of all trades," Mr Parker commented.
It was suggested that a SaaS solution can stop viruses from entering desktops and spreading among networks as any threats are caught quickly.
Mr Parker's remarks come after recent research by Forrester revealed that SaaS is set to grow in popularity and form a key part of the expansion of cloud computing in the near future.
