Companies working out of offices to rent in Northampton may wish to reuse their old computing equipment to save money, following the advice of one expert.
Andrew Boddington, marketing director for regeneration service provider Return On IT, noted that enterprises of different sizes may notice varying financial benefits if they embrace this kind of recycling.
He pointed out that smaller firms may not have the funds required to upgrade equipment, whereas larger corporations could notice that it is easier to look after and maintain a wide and diverse set of devices when they are all "of a certain type and make".
The environment is also a concern for businesses, Mr Boddington continued, with reasons for ecological interest ranging from ensuring a positive public image and good media relations to "doing the right thing".
Reusing old IT equipment is "a natural extension of that", he concluded.
He had also previously recommended that organisations should consider how they use their printers in order to reduce overhead costs.
