Firms operating from offices to rent in Northampton may wish to ensure any interim management staff hired harmonise with the workforce.
Marc Lawn, managing director of thebusinessgp.com, said "a team fit" is the first characteristic he would look for when selecting candidates for this position.
In contrast to this, permanent employees require "a strong cultural fit" due to "the long-term nature" of their contract, he declared.
Furthermore, temporary staff can often have "more rounded experience" than people who have "a single industry sector expertise", the expert noted.
He stated a company can benefit from this because the individual will bring "a degree of understanding" about how similar issues might be dealt with across a range of enterprises.
Mr Lawn's opinions echo those of HR and training consultant Tara Daynes, who argued that avoiding "a disconnect between [an interim worker's] management style and the culture of the organisation" is essential when selecting candidates for this kind of position.
