Businesses operating out of offices to rent in Northampton may want to take one expert's advice about website security.
Tony Neate, managing director of Get Safe Online, explained how it is vital companies protect their portals using anti-virus and specialist software that prevents cyber attacks.
He described how hiring a free security advisor to assess whether their system is fully compliant and safe from hacking would be wise.
Talking about an organisation's motivation, Mr Neate said: "It is not just about protecting their image - it is about protecting other people's personal data and financial data."
It was suggested that checking operating systems, applications and security packages are all up to date is "probably the most important thing" businesses can do to "safeguard themselves".
Mr Neate's comments follow a recent report from Websense Security Labs and the Websense Threatseeker Network that warns individuals of a new mailicious campaign called LizaMoon that is used by criminals to trick people into thinking their computer is infected.
