This is according to spokesman for the Business Crime Reduction Centre Adrian Platts, who explained that most installers will quote for free and customise their installations to the client's specific requests.
If a security system is to be as effective as it can, it is dependent on the premises in which it is installed and the uses of that location, he noted, adding that the knowledge of tradesmen is superior in this area.
"These installers have the expert knowledge to recommend secure systems," Mr Platts concluded.
He had previously described self installation as costly and wasteful, saying many packages are basic, less reliable and result in inadequate protection for the property.
However, he declared that maintaining good security protects against future crime costs and avoids any disruptions to normal business.
