Companies looking for offices to rent in Northampton may want to consider a unit that is covered by CCTV.
Tom Reeve, editor of SecurityNewsDesk.com, explained that the technology can help discourage crime as any footage acquired may be used as evidence.
"Internal theft continues to be a big, intractable problem, but if you've got good CCTV systems in place and employees know that, that can be very valuable as a deterrent," he stated.
It was suggested that while good security and access control systems should be the first line of defence against burglary, cameras are a valuable addition to offices.
Mr Reeve added that installing CCTV can considerably reduce losses as catching criminals may both deter others and help companies recoup costs.
According to the CCTV Advisory Service, it is important to have a professionally designed specification fitted as otherwise any evidence captured on camera may be found inadmissible in court.
