Small companies have been noted as the future of British business, news which may interest those operating out of offices to rent in Edinburgh.
Chief executive and founder of Entrepreneurs in Action Derek Browne claimed that it is vital young people are given the "skills and confidence" to become the next generation of leaders.
As a result, he explained that more should be done by the education and commerce sector to help support individuals and boost the economy in the long run.
"National research shows how important small business growth and innovation will be to our economic recovery," Mr Browne stated.
It was suggested that "good grades alone are not enough" and that young people should be given hands on experience and guidance.
John Walker, national chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses, made similar comments at the organisation's recent annual conference, in which he called for the Budget to create an environment suitable for entrepreneurs.
