Bosses at serviced offices in Edinburgh may want to take one expert's advice and encourage staff to take a break and eat healthily.
Carole Spiers, chief executive of the Carole Spiers Group, described how workers often forgo a proper lunchtime meal as they are rushing to and from meetings.
However, she warned that grabbing a chocolate bar or packet of crisps "is not going to do the right thing for their immune system".
Individuals need to boost their intake of foods that can help the body to stave off coughs and colds, while fuelling stressful lifestyles, it was suggested.
"Employers and employees alike have to be taught how to boost their immune system," Ms Spiers noted.
He added, that staff at all levels can end up burnt out if they do not take care of themselves in the workplace.
Ms Spiers' comments follow a recent survey by Bupa that revealed 48 per cent of workers admit to feeling their afternoon productivity levels plummet if they do not take a lunch break.
