Managers in offices to rent in Cardiff or elsewhere may wish to ensure their leadership style encourages staff to release their natural talents, following the advice of one expert.
Ashley Ward, director at employee development specialist European Leaders, declared that managers should strive to create "culturally elite organisations" to ensure that their workforce is "engaged with the business".
This requires transparency from the top down, ensuring the company is headed in such a way that workers are allowed to release talent.
He contrasted this with "command and control environments," claiming that these "instil a sense of fear" within people in management positions.
Workers with this mindset "focus more on playing the part that they perceive they need to play" rather than utilising their skills and talents, Mr Ward said.
This follows research from DDI Global Leadership Forecast, which discovered only 36 per cent of respondents believe the enterprise they work for is headed by high-quality staff.
