Older workers in offices to rent in Cardiff may wish to begin preparing for retirement, if recent comments by one expert are anything to go by.
Dianne Bown-Wilson, chief executive of In My Prime, which provides support for more mature people, asserted that individuals approaching this milestone should plan for "health, wealth and happiness".
"Neglecting the first will impact heavily upon the last and no amount of wealth will make up for deficiencies in the other two," she continued.
She explained that ex-workers often find themselves feeling depressed, without motivation or lonely when claiming a pension and therefore plans should be enacted to ensure that this scenario does not occur.
Further feelings of boredom, lack of purpose and worthlessness can also be expected "although the prospect of retirement is generally exciting and liberating", she continued.
Therefore, it is important that employees make sure they are saving enough money "to sustain the sort of lifestyle they envisage" when they no longer receive paycheques, Ms Bown-Wilson declared.
Her comments follow research recently undertaken by the University of Missouri, which discovered that married couples that anticipate alterations to their health or lifestyle tend to have a better time when they reach pensioner age.
