Many British employees, such as those working in offices to rent in Cardiff, do not realise their right to free eye tests, despite the fact that a lot of these people may require such an examination.
This is according to optometrist Daska Barnett, founder of Specs of Kensington, who noted that people are often unaware of the benefits of optical testing.
She further said that a lot of staff members do not know that companies and employers often pay the cost of eye examinations and she believes such healthcare checks should be sought out more often.
"People just don't appreciate the symptoms that they have," Ms Barnett stated.
A recent survey by Eyecare Trust and Simplyhealth found that 40 per cent of people claimed to not know that they may be entitled to a free vision test and contributions towards the price of required eyewear.
The poll also discovered that only one in five employees regularly take breaks from their computer screen, despite this being recommended by the Health and Safety Executive and other optical professionals.
